Christofle and ITALDIZAIN Host a Masterclass on Table Setting and Dining Etiquette

On April 16, at the Maison de Luxe boutique, the French Maison Christofle, together with Italdizain, held a professional educational masterclass on table setting and dining etiquette. Guests learned about the purpose of different pieces of cutlery and the rules of etiquette for occasions of every kind - from an informal breakfast with friends to a formal reception.

The meeting continued Christofle's cultural dialogue with clients and admirers of the brand, bringing together the subject of table setting and the traditions of social etiquette. Held in an in-boutique format, the masterclass gave guests the opportunity to learn the principles of table arrangement and enter the atmosphere of French entertaining and the art of hospitality.

The masterclass was led by Aytan Mustafayeva, an expert in etiquette and table setting. In her work, she combines classical etiquette with a contemporary approach, which keeps her masterclasses relevant and accessible to a broad audience.

For the in-boutique masterclass, the expert selected Christofle's historic Malmaison collection, named after Chateau de Malmaison, the country residence of Napoleon Bonaparte and Empress Josephine near Paris. The collection reflects the features of the Empire style, which became widespread during the Napoleonic era. It is distinguished by its characteristic ornament of alternating leaves and palmettes.

The Malmaison collection originally consisted only of silver flatware; later, porcelain with the same recognisable ornament in gold and platinum finishes was added. For more than a century, pieces from the collection have remained part of classical table setting and the culture of entertaining.

Thanks to Aytan Mustafayeva's experience and personal approach, the masterclass allowed guests to see Christofle pieces in a new way and to understand their role in contemporary table culture. The Maison's silverware and porcelain became part of a practical conversation about the details of hosting, the aesthetics of presentation and traditions of behaviour at the table. Through Christofle's collections, participants also encountered the philosophy of French art de vivre, which has long been an important part of the brand's heritage.

The masterclass reaffirmed Christofle's status as one of the key brands in contemporary table culture and as a guardian of the refined dining tradition - the considered presentation of haute cuisine. The intimate in-boutique format and personal attention to each guest strengthened participants' interest both in the brand and in the art of setting a table for everyday and formal occasions.

Christofle's official distributor in Azerbaijan is ITALDIZAIN.
