Jaeger-LeCoultre
The main curse of this exhibition
Reverso Tribute Enamel Shahnameh
The Must Have of this exhibition and the most special timepieces this year are Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Enamel Shahnameh watches. They are special for NARGIS Magazine and Azerbaijan for a reason, as there’s a story behind them. Our Lux Editor- Nigar Gahramanova gave a book of national miniatures to Matthieu Sauret- the Heritage Director at Jaeger-LeCoultre. This book inspired him to create this perfect timepieces. Not the first story when our ancient culture inspires people all over the world to create. Those Persian miniature painting required 100 hours for the creation of each caseback. Jaeger-LeCoultre presents a series of four new Reverso Tribute Enamel timepieces that celebrate the origins of the Reverso in the sport of polo, capture the power and beauty of the horse, and pay homage to one of the world’s greatest works of literature and art – the Persian epic poem, Shahnameh. In tribute to the history of miniature painting, which originated in Persia, the caseback of each piece features a miniature reproduction of an illustrationfrom the magnificent edition of the Shahnameh dedicated to Shah Tahmasp created in the 16th century. Just as the Reverso was born from polo, these timepieces tell a story within a story – capturing not only the essence of the game that inspired its creation but also paying homage to polo’s ancient Persian origins through the artistry of miniature enamel painting. They are limited edition: offering 4 timepieces of 10 pieces each.
Dating back to 1936 and 1949, the Jaeger-LeCoultre museum holds two extraordinary examples of this craftsmanship: the Reverso ‘Indian Beauty’, depicting an Indian princess, and the Reverso ‘Rama’, representing the Hindu god Rama. These masterpieces mark the beginning of a rich artistic legacy that continues today with the Reverso Tribute Enamel ‘Shahnameh’.
Just as the Reverso was born from polo, these latest timepieces bring its story full circle – honouring both the sport’s Persian origins and the enduring artistry of miniature enamel painting, which led the Maison to discover Persian culture and, most notably, the Shahnameh. Also known as the Book of Kings, this Persian epic was written by the poet Ferdowsi over more than 20 years, from 977 to 1010. Comprising 50,000 rhyming couplets, it chronicles the history of Persia’s rulers – from its mythical beginnings to its conquest by the Arabs in 642.
One of the most magnificent editions of the Shahnameh is the copy dedicated to Shah Tahmasp, containing 258 illustrations – each considered a masterpiece of Persian miniature painting. Created by two generations of Persia’s greatest artists, this edition was presented in 1568 to the Ottoman sultan Selim II and held at the Topkapi Palace for several centuries. In the 1970s, its bound manuscript was broken up, and its folios are now dispersed among museums and private collections worldwide.

J12.
For the first time, an intense matte blue elevates the highly resistant ceramic of the J12 watch. With this unique shade exclusive to the House, the CHANEL Watch Creation Studio gives time a new allure. A new interpretation designed and assembled by the CHANEL Manufacture in Switzerland.
PREMIÈRE
A true lesson in style, the PREMIÈRE watch freely explores new territories, as seen in two new creations for 2025. The PREMIÈRE watch plays with the CHANEL icons: an octagonal case adorned with beveled glass inspired by the N°5 perfume bottle stopper and a supple bracelet, made of a chain interlaced with a leather ribbon – inspired by the shoulder strap of the iconic quilted bag. When the PREMIÈRE opened the first chapter of CHANEL’s watchmaking history in 1987, it asserted its vision of time. Ever since, its timeless allure effortlessly stays connected with the present.

Cartier
Hear me Roarrrr! With Cartier.
Cartier Panthère
Keeping with the jewellery theme, this year, we also get some gem-set extensions to one of last year’s more slept-on Cartier releases, the larger Panthère with a bracelet. Only this time around, it’s the gem set. The core of this extension is four watches with fully set bracelets and gem-set bezels. Two in yellow gold and two in rose gold, in smaller and larger models. The showstopper, though, is just that, a showstopper. Seamlessly blending design motifs inspired by Cartier’s signature panther, as well as a dial inspired by the striping of the zebra, this remarkable watch is a true work of the jeweller’s art. It is a work of graphic magic, a transformative design that combines colour and stone to create something truly remarkable.
Cartier Tressage
In 2023 Cartier debuted a new jewellery collection, defined by transformative shapes, dynamic tension and fluid-like structures. That collection was called Tressage. Now, following other jewellery-like timekeeping pieces like Maillon, Coussin and Reflection, Tressage is the latest precious addition to the Maison’s timekeeping catalogue.

Its teal undertones bring about a sense of calm and composure, which explains why it has been adopted so fervently by designers and aesthetes.
