The International Forum "Solidarity for a Green World: From Waste to Value for a Sustainable Future" has ended

The International Forum "Solidarity for a Green World: From Waste to Value for a Sustainable Future" held in Baku, organized by the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, "Təmiz Şəhər" OJSC, has ended.
Within the framework of the two-day event, panel meetings were held. Here were discussed such issues as the promotion of best practices and innovative approaches in waste management, strengthening of cooperation, sustainable management of waste in the fight against climate change, as well as global challenges in this direction and others.

The forum was attended by representatives of many countries, as well as prestigious international organizations and foreign companies. Nargis Publishing House, which actively participates in environmental initiatives, also participated in the forum. Firuze Sultanzadeh, director of the Republic Center for Children and Youth Development, head of the "EkoSfera" Socio-Ecological Center, spoke about the great work done by Nargis Publishing House over the past five years, especially the exhibitions held, and also with the aim of protecting the environment, reducing waste due to optimal consumption and reuse. She talked about the planned next traditional ecological project called "Zero Waste".

Within the framework of these projects, cleaning works were carried out to make our city cleaner and more beautiful, and trainings were organized for schoolchildren. In the framework of the "Green Network" environmental education program operating under the Republic Children and Youth Development Center of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, activities aimed at the formation and development of the ecological culture of the young generation were held in Baku's schools, high schools and gymnasiums together with "Ekoklub". After the speech, a video showing the work done was shown. At the end of the forum, the "Zero Waste" Baku Initiative was signed with a number of companies.

The goal of the initiative is to improve infrastructure in the field of efficient waste management, implement pilot projects, increase accountability and strengthen public-private partnerships in this field. Within the framework of the forum, the winners of the painting competition "From waste to value" were also awarded.

A Memorandum of Understanding on efficient waste management was signed on June 27-28, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Mukhtar Babayev met with Samed Aghirbash, President of the “Zero Waste” Foundation of the Republic of Turkey, within the framework of the International Forum "Solidarity for a Green World: From Waste to Value for a Sustainable Future" held in Baku. During the meeting, the issue of efficient waste management was discussed and a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the parties.
