The Royal Collection boutique has launched a corner for Montblanc, a new brand in Italdizain’s portfolio.
Named after Europe’s highest peak, Montblanc is a legendary company whose story began back in 1906 with the manufacture of fountain pens. Stationery merchant Claus Johannes Voss, banker Alfred Nehemias, and engineer August Eberstein founded a joint business of manufacturing writing instruments in Hamburg.
Today, Montblanc’s scope has expanded significantly: jewelry production in France, watch workshops in Switzerland, and a leather factory in Florence – the heart of Italian leather craftsmanship.
The opening of the Montblanc corner was timed to the centenary of the legendary Meisterstück fountain pen, which means ‘Masterpiece’ in German. The elegant pen in a black lacquer case has earned a reputation as eternal classic and a popular ‘Pocket BMW’ nickname. Meisterstück, first released in 1924, became a symbol of the brand’s creativity and sparked the eponymous collection including not only writing instruments but also leather accessories.
The product range in the Montblanc corner of the Royal Collection boutique offers a complete overview of the iconic German brand. It features the anniversary series pens, as well as writing instruments from the Great Characters Edition, Muses Edition, StarWalker Collection, Montblanc M Collection, Writers Edition, etc. Among the exclusive novelties are collectible writing instruments from limited ‘Writers’ and ‘Artists’ series, inspired by the works of Jane Austen (Homage to Jane Austen) and Gustav Klimt (Homage to Gustav Klimt).
