Houston, we have innovations!

The 74th International Congress of Astronautics held in Baku.

Anticipation filled the air as the 74th International Congress of Astronautics took place in Baku from October 2–6, 2023. It was not the first experience for Baku, which has hosted many large and prestigious events so far. Baku had previously served as the venue for this prestigious event in 1973, making this its second hosting after 50 years.

This annual event, organised by the International Astronautical Federation, serves as a platform for discussing space-related research, innovations, and sharing expertise. The Congress brings together national space agencies, industry leaders, experts, and scientific professionals. Thus, this event also plays the vital role of a platform where important cooperation is established. The event was attended by representatives of space agencies, the public sector, private space companies, local and international media organisations, and investors. It featured conferences, over 190 technical sessions, and exhibitions.

Exhibition stands from 150 companies representing 36 countries were showcased in a massive pavilion covering 7,800 square metres, strategically positioned between the Heydar Aliyev Centre and the Baku Congress Centre. Notably, this marked the first time in the history of IAC that delegates from 132 countries participated in the event.
