Freak Cocktail Event — a Celebration of Ulysse Nardin’s Boldest Collection

The watch model provocatively named Freak, first released in 2001, created a true sensation, solidifying the background of the Swiss Ulysse Nardin manufacture. The bold experiment, bordering on recklessness, turned into a genuine triumph for the brand’s watchmakers: today, the Freak collection is the flagship of the renowned Swiss brand. Freak is rightfully regarded as being synonymous with innovation in the realm of horology: the model’s creators viewing the watch as an artistic canvas or art object struck a chord with connoisseurs and enthusiasts of Swiss watchmaking from around the globe.

The concept of the Freak collection as an ideal fusion of innovative technology and daring design solutions is also highly valued in Azerbaijan, where the brand is represented by Italdizain. On September 26, a celebration of the bold and extraordinary aesthetics of Freak at the 4LOFT Speakeasy Bar brought together true watchmaking aficionados – clients, partners of the brand, influencers, and media representatives – who had the opportunity to explore the iconic Ulysse Nardin collection models in detail.

The venue for the vibrant event was chosen to match the stars of the party – the latest Freak models: the mysterious atmosphere and unconventional setting of the 4LOFT Speakeasy Bar created the perfect backdrop for immersing in the culture and aesthetics of this iconic collection.

A creative highlight of the party was the large-scale work by graffiti artist Emil Majnun, who created an exclusive 7-meter graffiti piece specifically for the event—an impressive homage to the avant-garde solutions that brought fame to the Freak collection.
Especially for the Freak Cocktail Event, the venue’s mixologists crafted a quartet of signature cocktails inspired by the collection’s themes: Freakin’ Fresh, Freakshake, Freakaholic, and Total Freak Out. Themed appetizers added a unique culinary flair to the evening’s main storyline, enhancing the multifaceted experience of the Freak philosophy. The party’s musical program was presented by DJ Nasa Inherroom.

About Ulysse Nardin
Founded in 1846 by Ulysse Nardin in Le Locle, Switzerland, where the brand’s headquarters remain to this day, Ulysse Nardin SA is a manufacturer of luxury Swiss watches, initially known for its marine chronometers and precise navigational instruments for commercial and naval vessels worldwide. In 2001, the brand introduced its revolutionary Freak wristwatch model, capturing attention with its carousel tourbillon with a seven-day power reserve, lacking a dial, crown, and hands. In 2002, the Freak won the title of Watch of the Year in the innovation category. The Freak is available in two versions: Freak Out and Freak Vision. The Trilogy of Time collection included three different astronomical watch models, with the first being the 1985 Astrolabium Galileo Galilei model, named after the famous astronomer. This watch shows local and solar time, the orbit and eclipse times of the Moon and Sun, and the position of some major stars. It was listed in the Guinness Book of Records in 1989 as the wristwatch with the most complex mechanism. Following the Astrolabium, the Company released two other astronomical watch models: the Planetarium Copernicus in 1988 and the Tellurium Johannes Kepler in 1992.
