The Advent season transforms a home: candlelight, festive colors and lovingly chosen decorations create a special atmosphere. Villeroy & Boch has been part of this season for decades with porcelain and decorative items that combine tradition with contemporary design. These five tips show how you can quickly and easily make your home sparkle with New Year cheer.
The Magic of Tradition: When Memories Become Part of the Celebration
Toy’s Delight is a festive classic for anyone who wants to recapture the magic of childhood – right down to the smallest detail on the festive table. For more than 15 years, this collection has been enchanting people with its décor, which combines toy motifs from the Ore Mountains with the classic New Year colors of red, green and white – proving that some traditions are simply timeless.
Decorate with what brings you joy
There are no rules when it comes to New Year decorations, so they don’t necessarily have to match your interior décor. You can create a nostalgic feel with figurines, music boxes and the classic festive colors of green, red and gold, such as the teddy bear from the Christmas Toy’s Memory collection. The main thing is that your home brings you joy during the festive season.
Decorating builds anticipation
If you really want to enjoy the run-up to New Year, start early and add the decorations day by day, week by week. An Advent wreath, adorned with elegant candles and sparkling baubles, is a good place to start and turns every Advent Sunday into a little ritual. And with the nostalgic Advent calendar from Christmas Toy’s Memory, the wait itself becomes a gift: behind each of the 24 little doors lies a lovingly designed, one-of-a-kind piece from the popular Toy’s Delight collection – 16 of which are available exclusively in the calendar: perfect for adding a touch of decoration every day.
Collect, decorate and tell stories
New Year decorations can tell stories! For over ten years, the Annual Christmas Edition has been one of the highlights of the Advent season: featuring real gold details, a gold base stamp and a nostalgic design that tells a story every year. In 2026, Father Christmas floats in a magnificent hot-air balloon over a snow-covered winter landscape, accompanied by elves, and drops presents down to the waiting children.
Ornaments: small details with a big impact
Sometimes all it takes is a small detail to fill a room with New Year spirit. Delicate ornaments, such as those from the Christmas Classics or Nostalgic Ornaments collections, transform a door wreath, a fir garland or a small tree by the front door into festive decorations – and with very little effort.
