NARGIS Publishing House presented an ecological exhibition, "Go Green".
On October 12, the annual opening of the "Go Green" environmental exhibition, organised by NARGIS Publishing House, was held at the Baku Marine Station.
The main purpose of the exhibition is to raise public awareness about environmental issues, with a particular focus on the increasing amount of household waste.
The exhibition provides a unique perspective on modern environmental challenges through the lens of art. This year's exhibition showcases nine installations crafted by renowned sculptors and artists from Azerbaijan.
The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of ministries, agencies and companies, as well as partners and friends of NARGIS.
Mujgan Gafarzadeh, the Executive Director of NARGIS Magazine, extended a warm welcome to the attendees and shared that this year's exhibition is taking on a new format. Since May of this year, NARGIS, in collaboration with partners and ASAN volunteers, has organised multiple cleanup initiatives across various districts of Baku. Part of the collected waste was used by artists to create works for the exhibition. During the event, a video was presented showcasing the process of creating these installations.
Deputy Minister of Science and Education of Azerbaijan, Firudin Gurbanov, then delivered a speech, emphasising the importance of the event in the face of the escalating negative impact on our planet each year.
Firuza Sultan-zadeh, the head of the Socio-ecological center "EcoSphere" and the director of the Republican Children and Youth Development Center under the Ministry of Science and Education, shared insights on how the annual event has shaped the awareness of the centre's students, who are actively involved in the project and creatively approach the process of highlighting environmental issues.
The event also included a performance by the pupils from the Republican Children and Youth Development Center.
The exhibition is organised with the support of the Baku City Executive Power, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republican Children and Youth Development Center under the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, ASAN Volunteers, Port of Baku, and Baku Bus LTD. The sponsors of the exhibition include Pasha Holding, Baku Steel Company, Azərişıq OJSC, AzVirt LTD, Improtex Motors, Azerbaijan Airlines, and the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
As part of the project, educational masterclasses aimed at forming and nurturing environmental awareness among the younger generation will be conducted with the support of the Republican Children and Youth Development Center.
